How to Avoid Pregnancy After One Month According to a Doctor

How to Avoid Pregnancy After One Month

There are many ways to stop pregnancy after one month of unprotected sexual intercourse. While some are traditional, others involve medicines and surgery. Below is a list of some ways on how to stop pregnancy after one month.

How to Stop One-month Pregnancy

1. Medical Method

This method mainly uses prescription medication in order to stop foetal development. Doctors usually recommend tablets that contain misoprostol and mifepristone. These medicines are usually taken one after the other with only a short interval.

These medicines cause uterine contractions which lead to the expulsion of the foetus. This is accompanied by bleeding, which can last up to two weeks. During this period, you may have to visit the doctor thrice in order to verify the progress of the abortion.

2. Hormonal Method

This is a procedure in which hormones such as prostaglandin are injected inside the uterus. This is done in order to induce premature labour. This causes the expulsion of the foetus.

3. Saline Water Method

The saline water procedure is yet another intrusive method. In this method, saline water is injected into the womb so that the foetus is aborted shortly afterwards.

4. Eating Papaya and Raw Cinnamon

Eating unripe papaya can be an effective method for abortion. Papaya is rich in oxytocin and prostaglandin, and it induces uterine contractions when a woman is in labour. The fruit is also a huge source of phytochemicals which can impair the impact of progesterone. However, it doesn’t cause abortion every time this method is used.

Another effective way for an abortion is the consumption of raw cinnamon or cinnamon supplements. The compounds in cinnamon can easily induce labour. However, beware of allergies that might stem from cinnamon supplements.

5. Surgical Abortion

Surgical abortion involves instruments that can be used to carry out the procedure of abortion. You will be administered a local anaesthetic and will be doused with medications before or during the procedure. There are two types of surgical abortion: Vaccum Suction Aspiration (6-16 weeks) and Dilation and Extraction (after 21 weeks).

6. Vacuum/Suction Aspiration

Vacuum aspiration, also called suction curettage and suction aspiration is a method whereby a dilator is used to open the cervix after giving a local anaesthetic to the woman. The cervix is held in place with the help of forceps of various sizes. After that, a thin tube, which is attached to a pump, is inserted into the uterus through the cervix. The pump, which is usually electrically operated, is used to suction out the contents of the uterus. This is followed by bleeding similar to a menstrual period.

7. Chamomile/Green Tea

Like papaya and cinnamon, the consumption of chamomile and green tea is believed to be another way of causing abortion naturally. Just like the previous two methods, consumption of green tea also causes uterine contractions.

8. Doing Heavy Exercises

People also believe that various kinds of exercises such as sit-ups and crunches might be effective in causing an abortion. But there are no scientific studies that can substantiate this widespread belief.

9. Having Sexual Intercourse Frequently

If you want to avoid pregnancy, then having sex quite frequently in the initial days of pregnancy can impair the growth of the foetus. The orgasms that take place as a result of intercourse can lead to multiple uterine contractions, which can cause an abortion. Also, the prostaglandins present in the semen can impair the growth of a foetus. However, this is not recommended.

10. Pulling Out

Last but not least, you can always prevent pregnancy by pulling out before semen is released inside the vagina of the woman. This can be done by wearing a condom or managing to pull out just before semen is released. This is the most effective method of preventing pregnancy.
