6. Apply Salicylic Acid Creams and Ointments

7. Keep It Clean

If you are prone to butt acne, daily cleansing is the best-proven way to prevent butt acne formation. Bath daily with an antibacterial soap to remove excess dirt or bacteria build-up in the buttocks. Pat yourself dry with a clean towel before you wear your clothes.

8. Reduce Chances for Further Infection

If you are prone to acne or have butt acne, these are a few tips to prevent further infection and reduce the chances of butt acne scars:

  • If you wear fitted clothes, it causes friction and rub-down of the bacteria in the skin. So, you should wear loose-fitting clothes made of natural fibres to avoid friction.
  • If you gently rub your skin with a loofah, you can get rid of dead skin cells and dirt that can clog pores. Avoid vigorous rubbing and harsh cleansers. They can irritate the skin.
  • Do not use fabric softeners as they can cause allergies to sensitive skin.
  • After a workout, sweat and dirt accumulate on the skin. It’s better to shower after every workout session and wash the gym clothes.
  • Change wet clothes after swimming.
  • Shave or remove hair from the butt using the proper techniques.
  • If you are prone to butt acne, do not take long warm-water showers as they can dry out the skin.
  • Do not use a greasy moisturiser as it can clog the pores.
